Your access denied message is saying that you're trying to connect without a user name "@localhost" is a blank user name. Try and fix where you're sending the username to connect and make sure you're adding that username to the connection string.

well, he did actually
ERROR 1044: Access denied for user ''@'localhost' to database 'vote'
you have no username going with the @localhost, notice it only says '@localhost' ?
should say 'username@localhost' and username should be the username u use to login to mysql, you are not passing a username, therefore, access is denied
no username == no access
not sure i can dumb it down any further than that, sorry.

ok, this time its different, becus it says 'newmysql'@'localhost'
its not giving that user access to w/e database you are trying to connect to, dbl check ur password for that user, and dbl check that it has permission to access the database you are trying to connect to, connecting locally these are the only 2 reasons why you would not be able to connect

Here is a good tutorial that you can go by:
Don't install SQL Server 2012 because 2012 cannot read the older SQL server files and I do not have the knowledge to fix the files so that it can be read for SQL 2012 server.

maybe you should actually read the topic b4 you post?
or even the title?
he is having problems with MySQL, not MSSQL, you have been here since 2008 i would expect that you know you should read the topic before replying to it. . . . . .

How old are you? So what if I joined in 2008. I don't come on this site much and I don't come on just to flame at people like you. If he follows the procedure he won't have any problems creating the server. So before you use your fingers to type ... think twice before you do actually type. I'm not here to flame at anyone .. just trying to see if I could help out that's all.

It's a guide to go by that's all I'm saying. You can just download SQL Server 2008, install then just configure your ODBC and connect to your SQL Server.

LoL, i don't need MMSQL... its easy. My problem is configuring MySQL ( New version ) There is some error's what i just can't think how to fix. The guide what you post'ed is not useful. U don't need to post somewhere post's about it, if people do not discuss on this topic.
Thanks anyway, have anyone figured how to fix that problem?
:*

No offense, but how do you plan to help people if you have no idea what they're trying to accomplish?

This thread has nothing to do with MSSQL.

Sorry for my illiteracy but I just don't like the fact that someone has to flame another over a small misunderstanding. I was never a software person but I'm just slowly learning like others.
