Server problems. Have a few questions.

Me and my friend are trying to set up a public server on hamachi. And we have everything going well so far until we try to log in. When we try to log in it automatically disconnects us and we don't know what is going wrong.
What we have changed so far.

All the server.cmd configs and etc.
Serverlist and loginlist.csv IP changed. (Both client and server sided)
so upon a small check on the dbmon we saw a few problems at the start, coming from the message and loginservers.

[196] >> CRITICAL ERROR : SP_LOGIN_FLAG_SET PROC CALL FAIL
[196] Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
[500] Japan GameChu Login module loading Fail...

Are these normal or related?
Also, the message server's config file is empty, is that a problem?

Can anyone give any tips or help us out? You can contact me through skype via e-mail under the name allen121995

P.S. I will be making a full length guide from start to finish on how to set up a server. Both single player and LAN once we figure out the rest of these problems at get them solved so things like this will never be asked again.

Any version of MSSQL works, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2012.

I have the same problem with my server (Server 2003 R2 32bit). I'm using SQL Server 2005 SP3. I gave full permissions to the 4 databases (dbowner & sysadmin). I can connect no problem with Management studio and with other applications, but when I run the cast server I get the error in the 1st post. I tried using 127.0.0.1 and the machine IP, nothing works. I have all 4 databases set up in the ODBC as well. I've even added entries in the hosts file for my machine ip and address. What am I missing?

I have no antivirus or firewall running. So here's some screenshots of my config:

Not working still:

ODBC stuff:

Can you access your database using (local) ? or are you required to do DKSERVER\DEKARON ?

I got it working. It seems that it doesn't like it when you install SQL Server with a named instance. You HAVE to install SQL server with the default instance or it won't work.
