as i told in my last post they can't do **** to me and i'm not just a child i have been to prison before and i don't need a condom for that since the warden is my godfather also i do know about law and romania doesn't have any specific law's about server or file hosting


some one told this and he was right from all pont's of view

acclaim/nexus is a **** company in comparison with blizzard wich has 2 of the most played games in the world (WoW and WarCraft 3) wow has 1000+ p server's and u can play war3 online with no licenese (just download garena and register) so if blizzard can't shut down p server how will acclaim/nexus will? by law? nope for me , by force ( how come, they can't hack me LoL all unnecesary port's have been disabled by defalut because of windows 7 ) nope for me as well


so if any acclaim/nexus read this pls try i whould love to see it buahahhahaha

Your not untouchable. You have a lot to learn about other private servers before being so judgmental. WoW servers are ran from source code, this is why they can't be touched. Your dekaron server files were compiled by GameHi, big difference there.

still they can't touch me :P (i can be sued in romania but they will lose because we in general have an idiotic law ) (they could win in us and make me wanted there and western europe country's but if i whould know that well i just have to live forever in romania but since this is my home country that's fine )

hm...I thought romania had signed up to the Berne convention thereby binding them by international law... not that the eastern Europe countries ever do what they're told XD

Warmonger is right about not being untouchable, while it makes it tricky to get you, it's not impossible, if you're connected to the internet there is always a risk and there's not really a real way around that.

Not so much of a big difference.

You're still using the client, and their protocol, hence you're still (profiting from)/using their intellectual property.

WoW servers don't provide a client, its up to the end user to download and edit it to connect to the server. Thus they cant do **** because you hold none of their intellectual property. If you use google im sure you will understand better.

First of all i dont know much about the laws..etc. so dont flame me if im wrong.

But i heard there are International Copyright laws.
and if it were that simple (just for example!!!) i could go to..mhm..lets say holland and steal something there..lets say a spoon (just 4 fun )

So i go to holland, and steal a spoon..then i go back to germany and say "HAHAHA, you cant do anything, because in germany its allowed to steal a spoon!"

But it is'nt that simple! Gamehi is not stupid, and the law clerks also. They know their rights. So you cant just say..hey im in romania, i can steal your files and you cant do something.

Because 1 server was stupid enough to get busted out of the 1000+ currently running? It doesn't fit the bill. There is only so much that can be done. The justice system is in favor of the crooks and always has been. I'm not too worried about it as my server running days are over, and been over for many years. Alyson ignored the warning, and kept going. Blizzard went through with it, she suffered.

That's it; they're not untouchable. That is proof. You can't dispute it, speculate maybe but it's substantial proof backing up my claim, something that you should try sometime. -.-

Yea obviously they weren't smart enough to move their operation. In order to run a server you should know the legal system inside and out. That's a prime example of a server who didn't do their homework. But notice its been five plus years and a thousand plus servers still exist and only one server was actually prosecuted.

Clearly you know nothing about the server. Alyson did all she could, short of actually taking the smart move and getting the hell out of there while she still could. She was making millions for crying out loud; she had lawyers at her disposal. She still lost.

Fact: Making money off them is putting the icing on the cake.
Fact: The copyright holders are legally entitled to getting the money back that they lost from their business because of you ("damages").

There's no way to get around that. You can make things difficult; deter them from targeting you (i.e. by hosting on some random off-shore location that's hard to deal with), but if they really want your server on a plate, they can do it legally - it's THEIR intellectual property, not yours. It's also fair enough, they did the hard yards, they make the money. You come along, steal the game, start making money off it - it's wrong morally, let alone legally, but I'm not here to talk about morals. This is about legality, and it's most certainly, most definitely illegal to be using (and profiting from) somebody else's intellectual property.

So please, if you know nothing about the server don't be making assumptions.

5 years doesn't change much. As far as I know, WoWScape set the precedent (at the very least, encouraged others to take more action), which is actually a BAD thing for other private servers following in their lead, WoW, Dekaron or whatever other game there is.

That one server was prosecuted because she didn't back out when she had the chance. That's what the C&D was for. Everyone else did.

Please quit making assumptions about things you know nothing about. You cannot use assumptions in a debate, they are not interchangeable with facts...

Clearly. In "layman's terms", private servers are illegal and rightly so. There's no real way to get around that. That server did more homework than you could ever possibly imagine. They still lost.

If they want to take action against you, don't take the risk. Warmonger is very, very wrong - if Alyson (making millions) can't defend her private server against, what is now a precedent, no amount of "homework" is going to stack up against that. You won't win.
