DOR (DarkOrbit Remix) was an offline DO clone which came out in series years ago and it was like a fever, literally everyone who played this game loved it. Although it wasn't continued and with time people stopped playing, developing and it has been forgotten. But recently I've seen some encouragements from people who liked it and want to keep it alive, some people are wondering to build from scratch, others already began.

It is a complicated project, as it takes time, and it has never been monetised to compensate. So i'd like to point some features which may help you out if you're interested about building your own clone but you don't want to invest much time without something in return.
So if you ever run into doubts, you don't know what to work on, you don't know what to implement, you don't know if it's worth your time... Let me give you a list of suggestions to help you develop your offline clone or simply DOR based game
Before anything, let me point that personally i do not like the idea of making an very OLD version of DO, simple because despite being ugly (yet nostalgic), there isn't much space for development, implementations and updates.
First, something that may chain people into your game, as it is really good, people could play it for hours, days, weeks, depending on your efforts and their will power [how the nostalgy emotion chains, how hard would someone be looking for upcoming news...].

If you've always been an enemy of P2W and you do not feel comfortable from keeping people away from your works only because they're costly, you can simply split between early access (When people who paid can enjoy the content earlier) and late public dlcs (After certain time, the content become free for everyone to enjoy), think about it.
It is important to notice that having your own Site or Platform to share announcements and updates is almost a must. If you keep using Epvp then don't forget the backlink.
