if the emulator is working and you cant connect, im gonna guess your using localhost instead of 127.0.0.1
It's nice that you want to take on such a big project by yourself, but don't let people distract you. I used to be like you but all the "How fix?" "Where pet?" "How download?" really made me stop.
If you want to do it right and have something you can actually keep up with and not something that you write once and never ever change again, prepare, cause it's a really big project and anyone can write something that "will work somehow".

It only gets worse with time, best thing you could do is do it on your own, without telling anyone and release it once it's fully finished and don't need to give support.
