The way I program is the professional way in which the big servers like Boombang, WorldOfCraft, Minecraft, Habbo, LOL, etc., program.
That's why I have experience with good memory and cache practices, etc. in a totally scalable way.

Npc: 99%
-The npc delivers reward when dying.
-They move in a random and more intelligent way.
-When npc are aggressive they attack the people they look around
-They retire when they have little life
-There are no jumps in the walk.
-If you are on a map where all npc are passive and you start attacking one the other npc helps you. It depends on the distance, not because you look at it, it means that it will help the other npc.
-If you enter a protected area or radiation zone they stop attacking you and withdraw
-If they have been chasing you for some time, they will retire
