Reminder for next update
Hey all,
if what I heard is true, and there will be a new crafting system in DarkOrbit, I want to remind you to buy all Extras now, while they are cheap.
If you can uncraft them for ressources, they will be quite expensive, so you should start buying them for 10-100k now
+If you can't use them for crafting you haven't lost too many Credits
Regards

Maybe I understood.
With the new system we'd be able to craft items (some extras too) with different resources, and probably uncraft them (this is a assumption). What he is saying is that probably some of those resources (or all of them) will be also used in some other recipe and if the uncrafting system (going back to the resources) will be an option then everyone will start to bid on auction for those extras to uncraft them and get the resources needed for other recipes. In this way prices in auction wont be so cheap.
Correct me if I'm wrong
But everything we know for now is unofficial.

This is unofficial
Please note that this feature is still in development therefore the information below may change prior to release.
==========
Assembly
The "Assembly" is the new DarkOrbit crafting system that will allow you to create all kinds of items. You will be able to craft consumables like ammunitions and CPUs, and sometimes special, rare or even unique items like ship designs and the like.
To do so, you will need to collect resources and recipes that drop from NPC, are part of mission or Arena rewards etc., or which can be purchased for Uridium (essentially because some people might not want to wait for the resources to drop).
Of course some recipes (like ship designs) can be used only once to create one item, whereas others (e.g. ammo) can be used as many times as long as you have the required resources.
The items created this way behave just like normally obtained items and will be working normally.
What kind of resources will be required?
For the beginning, you will need special resources. Some of them are extremely rare and may not always found in space. Some of these materials are called Mucosum, Boltrum, Scrapium and Prismatium.
What are recipes?
Recipes are the blueprints the nano-printers need. These recipes list the resources required to craft the item, how many of that item are crafted (e.g. 100x UBR-100) and the time it takes to build.
Some of these recipes can be used only a limited number of times (e.g. to craft ship designs, a P.E.T. or drones) while others are usable multiple time (e.g. to craft ammunitions).
How do I get the special resources and recipes?
Recipes and resources may be available as rewards for achievements, arena victories, missions or as NPC drops or may even be obtained from the shop. The actual source can and may vary for each resource and recipe.
Future plans
The next steps we are planning is to remove the Tech Factory and add the Zeus and Apis drones as well as the other tech items (Backup Shields, Battle Repair Bot, Chain impulse, Energy Leech and Precision Targeter) as permanent recipes into the Assembly.
Also we will be looking at a “salvaging” system that will allow you to take apart all the useless stuff cluttering your inventory and may even think of using standard resources. But that may still be a bit further down the line.
Over time we can and will add a wider vary of recipes than the ones available at launch, making more rare and unique items available through crafting.
The Assembly Launch Event FAQ
With the introduction of the "Assembly" feature everybody should have a chance to try out the new system! So from -TBC- until -TBC- you can participate in the release event.
Is there a reason why you are running an event?
As the Assembly system adds several new functions to the game and can have a big impact on the overall balance of the game, we want you to give it a good try first and see how you like it.
Which new resources are there and where can we get them?
First of all, we are going to add some new resources as drops to certain NPC and missions. Two of the more common ones will also be available in the in-game shop so you can focus on collecting the rare resources.
Boltrum Devolarium (Regular, Boss, and Uber) Shop: Yes
Mucosum Lordakia and Lordakium (Regular, Boss, and Uber) Shop: No
Prismatium Kristallon and Kristallin (Regular, Boss, and Uber) Shop: No
Scrapium Saimon (Regular, Boss, and Uber) Shop: Yes
What recipes are available during the event?
For the time of the event only we are introducing a number of unique recipes.
* 1x Pusat Vengeance design (once)
* 1x Goliath Surgeon design (once)
* 1x P.E.T. (once)
* 1x LF-4 laser (once)
* 200x UCB-100 missiles
* 5x R-IC3 “Icy” Rockets
* 1x Z-Gate part (1x)
"Once"means that a recipe can only be used to craft this one item once. All other items can be used multiple times as long as you have the required resources.
Note that except the P.E.T. recipe these will be removed after the event ends. If you want to craft one or more of these recipes, you should take the opportunity and collect the required resources during the event. (As these items are very valuable, we will decide after the event when we will make these recipes available again.)
Which recipes will be available after the event?
Of course the Assembly is not a one-off event. The main feature will remain in the game and the following recipes will be available permanently:
* 1x AJP-01 Advanced Jump CPU
* 1x EMP-M01 Mine
* 1x Goliath Bastion Design (once)
* 1x HST-2 Hellstorm Rocket Launcher (once)
* 1000x MCB-50
* 1x REP-4 Repair Robot 4
* 1x SO4-CPU Slot Extender 4

not exactly unofficial...
they are cooking it up, adding the ingredients so they may scrap or not whatever they seem fit, but usually to make the game a pain in the ass for the free players, it's highly likely that the "Scrap" feature WILL be removed when it's released.
but getting "crap-style" CPU's in the auction can be either used to turn them into materials or credits.

Hello good people ,
Well I just wanted to remind you what happened to me on this site and to warn you not to make the same mistake like I did.
I kinda have the obligation to tell you this because I don't want any1 of you to experience how it is when u get scamed by SimplyPro and loose everything u have.
But what I found very disgusting are the corrupted admins and moderators who warned ME for putting this thread ? Can you believe that ? Instead to ban him at least but no , they wanna hide...
