No it's not possible, because you're not connected with the player directly. Only the server itself knows the ip.

It's sad, that your friend got hacked, but even with the IP, you can't get his exact adress, where he lives. It only gives you the nearest big city where he lives. You can't get the exact position from an IP adress.

Basically you can only get his ip if you know his skype(with a skype resolver it's easy) or if you chat with him

dont know how it's in other countries but in germany requi's post is right. It shows you the nearest waypoint to that ip.

I dont think that other countries dont have multiple waypoint's too so it's like requi wrote.

And why it's like that? A router doesn't answere ping(traceroute) from an unknown address

if you don't work in security service of the country, anybody won't give you the address on IP
