[Help] Dark ~ Revolution - BigPoint ...
Sorry today I have flood the forum with my posts, i would like to know about the fact that my team and i let us open a server in a few days, how to have no legal problem with bigpoint?

You want a simple answer on how to do this?
Impossible. However, coming from a lawyers mouth/words, he said that if you put credit to them on the login/register page and on the homepage somewhere saying; "Copyrights and Reserves go to "Bigpoint Inc"
You can avoid some issues, I do believe that avoids the copyright issue he said. However, you can still get shutdown, but that will help avoid from being charged. Just, be careful.

what about changing some images and ship names etc. to where it isn't the exact DO but more of a custom private server? Would we have to change everything or could we just switch a few things around. If that has to be a possibility?

you can do this by doing **** coding/design on files >>
-recode page to new style
-colour page to other colours
-colour/recode ships and give a new shapes
-remove any **** copyrighted stuffs from files
and no war

I can add ships from stellar legacy xd i make old ships in adobe can make other give sprites i am game client editor xd

Words from a lawyer, is that you must edit 5% of the files, in order for it to fall under non-copyright category. Keep in mind, your biggest challenge, would be the swfs. As editing it, means you must edit 50 billion things. Just be safe, I don't want to see anyone else charged or in trouble.

Don't use graphics created/ owned by Bigpoint GmbH would be the major point. (beside gfx <= 5x5 pixel)
Source code like for example website/ *.swf/*.as files would be the next thing.
Basicly create a "new" game from scratch.

what about tinting everything a 5%???
just goli instead of being "gray" add a for example bluish tint, it will be gray and blu-ish, does that still apply copyright?

No that would still be counted as copyright infringement.

What about making it 'private'? i mean 'a private server for friends with educational purposes only' or maybe make it 'email invitation required' and edit .htpassw to give access to members only...
Something like that can work?
