[Opinion] Sentinel or Lightning?

I am torn between sentinel and lightning at the moment.

I hear about all the special goliath designs and they really don't seem that special (to me at least)

Venom, just emp and go. Spectrum is ok but just makes fights boring (especially if both specturms use ability lol). Dimisher is eh, good for npcs mainly. Solace lol id just get an aegis. and sentinel is alright, deals less damage from enemy on shields and at least looks cool.

I was thinking sentinel but also lightning vengie since I plan to pally alot.

Opinions are greatly appreciated !

for pally lighting , for battles spectrum/ sentinel :P ( but also lighting can be very good too if you use a config with full speed and full dmg and the other one full speed and 15 bo2 and 5 lf4 on drones)

Venom is pretty much useless if you cant force the enemy to emp quickly, solace isnt really worth it now since of all the changes!, diminisher is a really good design as it melts your enemies sheilds meaning anyone who runs high sheilds still wont stand a chance, spectrum is stupidly strong but you have to be able to hit hard to make it worth while for you to fightback as it last 30 seconds, senitel is one of the best designs by far as long as you know how to pvp correctly! 2 miniute ability that reduces incoming damage by 70% but doesnt reduce your damage is amazingly strong!!! Learn how to use senitel and youll easily be able to 1v2 uber fe ships!

.. .. and for lighting design i dont understand why you would waste 250k uridium just to run away? :/

i mostly hunt with sentinel or spectrum and they are both really good...put right configs on sentinel and you can even do 1v3`s

Good point. Yeah lightning doesn't seem that good once everyone say how good sentinal is

Yeah i hope this could be the reason why you named complete noob. Lightning is very useful and 2 or 3 of them can f*** up your day if they can handle them good and work good together.
And to buy them with Uri when they are available for Credits would be the next indicator...

And to topic:
The designs are complete different to handle and to play with. Compare them is like compare apples and pears.
If you do much NPCs and much fights the Sentinel is of course the first choice. If you do much Palla and/or Boxes then the Lightning is your first choice. Besides you can do a bit more than just run away with it. I heard there are people who can handle them very well and go on hunt with them.

Also it is good to have some Lightning on your side when you fight with enemys. They can catch up faster with them if they try to flee.

Great points! Yes as I said above (no means in a boorish tone) I will bid on it!
I have lots to consider, frankly thinking of vengie atm.

On one hand Sentinel is better. It's just so classy. On the other hand Lighting is great for fights/running away. Also it's great for 5-3 since you can easily escape. In my opinion you should get Lighting as you are going to collect palladium. You should decide whether you want to use Goliath or Vengeance.

One config with 5 bo2 in ship and 4 in drones (rest full lf4 ) and the other config full shield both ship and drones

yup! On first config put 5 shields on ship and 2 on drones (rest lf4 make sure u seprom and put proomerium on speed) on second full shields in ship and 4 lf4(lf3) in drones rest shield
hint:when you run low on hp(70k) use afterburner
