How Do Servers Work?

Hey guys, im kinda new to the new private server things. I tried 2, the DO Remix ones, but they never opened my save files. Lightorbit doesnt work, same with Shock servers. Whats all the other stuff on the 1st thread in this section?

1. DO Remix isn't a pserver. It's an old offline game made in GameMaker.
2. Lightorbit and Shock Server are often offline. If u want to know when they are online check this site
Another Server which is nearly 24/7 online is from linkpad
