Correct me if i'm wrong, but this was an announced change by BP to limit the actions of Autolock.
They increased the view range, adapted it to all resolutions and reduced the size of ships and attack range with 33% so autolockers wont be able to lock and shoot you from distance. This way even if they get a lock on you they wont be able to start shooting before they get in range and you'll be able to actually see them and get a lock too.
