My best guess is that you didnt set it right . or it could be your computer .. but just too make sure restart it .. and watch this Video

For me, no need to change the hot key. I myself have changed in the game options and now it's OK. Anyone can change so there is no need to change anything in the program

compatibility mode works only from your version and under, so in vista it will have win xp win 2k not win 7, only win8 supports compatibility in win7

Yesterday and the days before I was using this I heard everytime that "beep" when I die, but today I didn't hear it anytime, is it because I changed some settings? Like enabling/disabling shooting on aliens? Does that causes the problem?

The "beep" inform you that your ship is dead or you lost the internet connection. So... what is not working for you? Only "beep" sound or your reviving and reconnection?
