As you may have heard, we are planning to being testing of our Uridium Wars Private Server within the next week. So now we are searching for some friendly moderation staff to help us out! Just so you know, we will be doing extensive checks as well as asking other moderators of epvp to give comments on each application. We don't have many spots, and if we get overwhelming requests, we will have to screen each request manually.
We are going to be following the standard Bigpoint procedures. You are aloud to make ONE POST in this thread. Any spam will not be tolerated, questions can be answered by sending me a PM. If you make more than one post, only your LAST post will count. If you wish to modify an application you may do so by editing your post. If you do edit it, please let me know via PM as I may need to recheck it. There will be placements for English and German support staff to start with and we may expand to other languages later. No matter what language you speak, you need to have a decent understanding of english, and the language support team you are in should be the same language you speak as your primary language. Eg. English team should have people that speak English as their first language, etc.
You should include the following information in your application: Real Name, Email address, Country, Native Language, Player since, Availability, Reason for applying, as well as any other information you wish to tell us that you think we should know about you!
Requirements for Chat Mod follow:
- You should have expertise in DarkOrbit
- You are fluent in both written and spoken English
- You are responsible, professional and are resilient to critique
- You are loyal and trustworthy
- You can handle responsibility and will not abuse it
- You must be online at least twice a week
Requirements for Support Staff follow:
- You should have expertise in DarkOrbit
- You have good team skills
- You have experience or knowledge in the areas of browsers, computers etc.
- You are fluent in written English
- You are responsible, professional and are resilient to critique
- You can understand people who speak in slang or 1337 talk
The above requirements apply to other "staff" as well!
More requirements will be published as we finalise things but that is just for you guys to get started. At the moment, we are looking for the following staff:
Chat Moderators:
- 3 German Chat Moderators
- 3 English Chat Moderators
- 2 Global Chat Admins (Must be fluent in both English and German!)
Support Staff:
- 5 German Support Staff.
- 5 English Support Staff.
- 1 Support Manager.
Forum Staff (Details on requirements will come later):
- 2 German Forum Moderators
- 2 English Forum Moderators
- 2 Global Moderators (Fluent in both English and German!)
Blog Staff:
- 1 Blog Writer
- 2 Blog Moderators
Job Descriptions:
Chat Moderators:
Chat moderators will be required to do their normal job as per darkorbit. You will be required to enforce the Chat rules as well as read what is written in the Chat and Whispers. Please remember you are an external representative for the team so set a good example! You should provide help in the Chat or refer users to the Forum. If necessary, you may also reprimand and/or warn users.
Global Chat Admin:
Chat Admins are required to do the same job as Moderators but have more permissions and should be called in when required to sort out large issues. They are also in charge of managing Chat Mod's as well as passing information from Mod's to developers where need be. They should be fluent in both German and English and should be active at least once a day, and be online and browsing both the German and English chats.
Support Staff:
Support staff are required to be online at least once every day for a minimum of an hour per day. They will be required to answer emails sent via the support form on the back page and help users with any technical issues or game issues they are having. Good knowledge of common computing terms as well as a well established relationship with developers will be crucial for this role. They will be required to pass on exploits and bugs as well as other issues outside of their controls to a developer.
Support Manager:
The support manager has the same role as the above Support Staff except hold greater privileges. Support Staff are the only personal with access to accounts and all requests by players for things requiring booking or unbooking of items to an account will need to be done through the Manager. If possible all requests or questions should be passed through the manager before a developer to see if they can help. Support Manager's also need to be fluent in both German and English and need to be online once a day. They should also be responsible of finding answers to commonly asked questions that Support Staff don't have answers for. (Google is your friend!)
Forum Moderator:
You should enforce the Forum rules and read all PM's and most posts in the forum! You should follow generally moderator roles as well as issuing warnings and banning people for constant spam or breaking the rules! You are also responsible for forwarding issues or exploits/bugs on to developers. Support staff also have the rank of Forum Moderator.
Global Forum Moderator:
You do everything a normal moderator does except you moderate over both English and German forums. You should also be responsible for translating English news posts by developers to German if needed. You should be fluent in both English and German!
Blog Writer:
You will be required to write blog posts to keep people updated on current events the developers don't have time to write about! You should also keep the community upto date on update news as well as bugs that are being fixed! You should have a reasonably good relationship with developers and be on at least twice a week.
Blog Moderator:
You should watch comments on blog posts, removing comments where needed and issuing warnings or bans if required.
