[Help] Overheated machine

Hi,

Thanks to everybody for yor support.
I did some google stuff. And yes I'm not alone with this problem and most people are speaking about a cooling pad or dust inside the laptop.
I still think its strange the temp go so high when playing a game (see screenprint when i don't play)
I have already a new fan installed a few months ago so I think that dust won't be the prob.
Anyway I will buy a cooling pad and blow the dust away.
When I have done that I will inform you about it.

try using an desktop and leave your laptop to lower things, also. check if where the heat gets out is not obstructed, like my laptop, it have on its lower part... so i need use an book to help it.

Totally right , i got this problem to and my fan makes a noisy sound and my pc warmed up very fast. I cleaned it and no problems anymore.

it is not from your laptop or your fans it is from the game itself this overheating thing happens to me to every time i play darkorbit from one or two months those idiots from bugpoint did something wrong and now the game uses your cpu like 100% when u play and instead of having hardware acceleration from flash player handled by your graphics card it uses the cpu to and this is the cause why the game works like **** why we have lag and why our pc's get overheated i have 8 fans on my pc and water cooling for cpu and i still reach very hi temperatures so instead of buying a new cooling pad write to support about this problem like i did more of us who complain about this problem will mean more chances it gets repaired and hopes we could play this game again without pc's shuting down or lag

verify if your inside notebook cooler is working.

buy external cooler pad.

lower your dark orbit settings from the game window.

verify if your ati radeon video card is working instead integrated intel hd video[if you have, your processor will overheating beyond normal all the time].

Also check thermal compound on the heat sink.

cooling will not help, DO takes a lot of % processor, look in task manager, there is the problem

thats why your battery is down fast as well. you need a much better processor, starting with "i"

Not sure what your issue may be but for general overheating have cooling fans cleaned and heat sink cleaned. if you run a dell tip computer from side to side if you hear a rattle then you have a cooling sustem failure(common dell issue) also check processes and threads for excessive numbers. Use ccleaner to clean junk files (excelent free tool) and also clean your start up files of all unknown or unessary programs. I keep a text document of start programs for reference to verify if some program has been added. good luck

Hi,

These are the results so far.
I disabled all non windows programs on my laptop. I used 'msconfig' as told me before.
I removed my battery.
I bought a cooling pad around 35€.
I minimized my acc 'homepage' this helped a lot!!!
And lowerd some other stuff.

Now I got a average around 70°C cpu

I have also noticed when temp. go's up when there's a lot of action you can cool down by resting a while, eg at a portel.

clean your built in fan with an vacuum cleaner. After that my laptop worked faster, made less noise and didnt get such hot
