I am going to assume he hasn't died once. I have used it, with roughly the same configs, and I don't die at all.

Alpha is a very easy gate, you may (however I doubt it) have problems with the prots. But that is only if you screw up your configs.
Just make sure you have a good connection while you are doing it :P

Yes, I never died in alpha gate because it's the easiest gate.
