mutch, lol, and no, theres no way to know how much a person bidded, only if u ask him, but i dont think he tells u

sometime ppl with higher rank bid very high..
s0 if u think u can outbid him/her,just try l0l..
but,many ppl like to bid on last 20 sec..usually on best item..
s0 just bid l0l..if u lucky,u win..
