You still do a bit damage. You can kite the NPC to death. You seriously should play a MMORPG like WoW or AION. Mostly tank or support class have a blocking set, that they don't get any damage. They'll need a plenty of time to kill the NPC, but it's safe.

I use one fast and one slow (heart,sometimes diamont) with aegis repairing and shooting with x2 cause my dmg is little too i think will not cost you much x2 cause you get alot from portals i do my portals with x1 only and keep other ammo(i most do zeta's now).
When i get more stronger will use that formation which Lemiwink say.

Because they changed to eic time ago thinking to own mmo and then to start own eic too. But they don't own nothing xD
