OK, so formations: Diamond then Heart or Moth, ships: if you're FE [8 Iris, 31 LF-3, 16 B02, 24 PP...] then Goliath is OK but, the best ship for NPC farming is Aegis [save money and buy it], gates: collect palla non-stop with PET or pixel bots and make Zetas [until you're full Havoc, after that it's time for Kappa], it's better if you have 2 halls: for selling and collecting , to get Apis and Zeus drones you need lots of booty keys so it's better to save your keys, which you'll get from the Zeta gates, and spend them in LF-4, Zeus, Apis days. The LF-4s and Upgrades are the hardest part, I guess. So after you've 10:10 - dones:Havoc,Hercules you start farming aliens very hard and spend your U for upgrades,booties or PP if you like. And basically that's all, I think. Hope I was helpful!

I can answer only the 2nd question: some say it's not safe, some say it's completely safe. However, no one got banned using pixel bots so far although there have been many ban waves, you know. So, my opinion: safe!
