Hi Community!
I started coding a Private Server (no joke, real stuff). I've set up a Server Base in the last few days and am now implementing the first Event Handlers.
Reasons for this project are:
- There are soooo many botters/glitchers/cheaters/haters/pushers on the official servers -> no fun to play anymore.
- without paying money you can't win (<- no discussions please!)
Why a Private server then?:
- first things first: I am looking forward to code not to host!
- As owners of the server you can:
... - Controle what's going on, Log gameplay to catch cheaters
... - Create a client side anti cheat
... - take out the banking system!
... - develop new gameplay modes
... - AND MORE!
As I watch my wireshark capture's, it seems like the basic stuff is easy to implement, but implementing every aspect of the game seems like a lot of work.
I'd like to ask you for help guys! I know there are some people here who know the protocol and who know the game and also have coding experience. I'd really apreciate it!
Project Info (for devs):
- Lightweight & Lightning fast Socket Server (also: Scalable!)
- Easy Coding (No need for low level **** - it's all there already)
- Multi Platform
Requirements (devs again):
- English skills (no german please!; but don't need to be perfect I guess)
- Coding Skills (obv.) but also in a high level lanugage and not only scripting languages. (eg. s.o. who knows python & php -> not so good; s.o. who knows eg. C and Java - excellent!)
