I'm also curious about this too, I have seen on some forums people talking about Valve storing information on what processes are running on your computer while you play in a database, for potential ban waves later on.... this would be real ****** if true. It means that if a cheat gets identified a while later, and shares whatever identifying information you had running, you could get caught up in a ban.
Anybody have any information on this??
I hope it's not true, and think it might be BS because that's extra server space for little upside on their end... if it was true i would also assume they might not hold on to the stored info forever.
