Can someone fill me in why making the same cheat "invite only" somehow makes the customers in this market go rabid? I've never seen this in any other game I've made cheats for

Invite only doesn't really add any security. Things like config saving to disk, pasting features, using public/poor bypass methods or any other detection vector can still be a problem & anti-cheat teams have connects who are active in the community to get them access to cheats they are interested in even if there are IDs/invites required

I know this is a thread regarding a specific provider but I am asking this question generally

I am also not saying this provider has any of the detection vectors listed above or isn't a great option. I've heard great things about oxide I am just looking for a general answer about the "invite only" stuff

It’s an old, tried and true sales method. Everybody wants to go to the club that has a big line outside, where it’s difficult to get in, even if the inside of the club sucks. The only benefit I can see of invite only cheese is if less people have it, it may take longer to get on the radar of anti heat devs and for them to gather info on it, doesn’t really change how many or little vectors there are

There is no other good answer other than they want the people to feel like it’s a “private/secure” community/cheat, when in reality as you just said there is nothing ”private” or “secure” about it.

Also devs and community members can earn more by selling invites, like skeet/gamesense have done for ages now.

Btw if cheat providers really wanted to manage who have access to their cheat, they wouldn’t use invites they would use applications instead. But as i said that’s not what they really want.

Satan5/Ev0lve is a good example on how it should be done? Satan5 have applications to each cheat catagory, and Ev0lve have applications or had when i joined, where they would interview you to make sure you aren’t a 13 year old kid. (No community want those toxic kids)

Not being the focus of the anti-cheat team is a good goal to have assuming the dev has a solid & unique cheat/bypass

The problem I have is that the invite only/application/"private" strategy still brings massive attention to the cheat providers. The invite only cheats are the biggest names in CS cheating as far as I can tell

Anti-cheat team members have connections with very active cheaters who share access with them. Sometimes there has to be money involved or sometimes they get someone to "flip" when that user is ****** off by their provider

Truly, the best strategy to avoid anti-cheat attention is to go slotted and not do much marketing imo

But I think Satan's application process still sounds pretty good

Our invite system worked like an application system. Users were able to requests invites for their friends.
