Works after each Update.
Small Updates = Auto Work.
Big Updates = Repatch the vpk file

and there are lots of "pak01_dir.vpk" files. should i drag them all?

Nope if you wanne have fun Online then only community servers (readme has a servers list including) if you wanne play mm or any other casual matches again simple watch this screen:
