Socketing Talismans with Super gears

Alrite i just have a simple question.

When you go to socket lets say the defense talisman, it says you can't socket using the highest BP item, does this mean i can't use any type of 2h weapon?
Like if i had a super 2soc poleaxe, i can't use a super spear to add the progress into my talisman?
Same with headgear, etc etc

Any help would be appreciative, as i don't really understand about the "type" they are talking about.

hmmm ive never had this problem before. was your account non merchant? try socketing talisman with a merchant account

yeh its a non merchant account. What difference does it make making it into a merchant account?

i cant actually explain lol. most probably its the part where merchant can trade and sell evrything except locked and bound gears, that means merchants can trade/sell gears with highest bp (crossed fingers, really hoping i am right).but try socketing with merchant account.
