If im not wrong you got that message from a cracked version of michael's SV posted 2 and 5 days ago but the link was already removed ^_^
I was searching for info on the net about it and I only found it coming from the Norman control antivirus, I have active virus shield and it wont detect anything, I also checked the possibles effects of the virus (new registry entries and .exe/.dll files inside the Window folder) but I didnt found anything.
What antivirus said u got infected? or you checked the .exe file using jotti and u got that message?
-btw-
the info I found about that trojan was
Once the .exe file is opened the trojan will open a backdoor that allow other users to have full control over the infected computer.
It creates at least 3 files:
c:\windows\[random name 1].exe
c:\windows\[random name 2].dll
c:\windows\[random name 3].dll
and also a registry entry:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows 2;CurrentVersion\Run
[random name].exe = "c:\windows\[random name].exe"
You can use zonealarm to see if anyone is trying to get to your computer using this backdoor but I rly hate zonealarm giving messages all the time.
I formated the hole thing. I kinda had 2, my hubby is tro-tro-tro 130-130-130 2soc everything, he would be ****** at me if he lost everything.
Is there anyway for me to continue using this crack without being infected??
Edit:
I used a site to scan and i believe it was "Norman" that found it. I think it was. I cant remember the name of the site i used. Lost everything since i just formated.
If the exe is really infected and is not only a faulse alarm due heuristic analisis coming from norman antivirus then everytime you open the file the trojan will copy it self and do all over again.
I think is safe, I mean I executed the file and all and im not worried xD
But you are right, you cant risk other's info so u better just forget about that file and try cracking sv yourself.
I have looked up Hupigon.gen86 and the term Hupigon, and according to what was said in the above post Norman AntiVirus finds it to be a macro/binary virus, where the ".gen86" is telling us it's Windows OS according to the '86' and 'gen' representing a keygen, I do not know if this is correct, however the W32/Hupigon.worm virus simply copies the following files to removable drives:
* autorun.pif (the copy of this worm)
* autorun.inf
I'd do a search yourself or perhaps contact your Manufacturer for more information, try a best buy if you have one in your location. The geek squad should be able to help.
The Hupigon.gen86 is only found on one site unless you type in Hupigon.worm or just Hupigon, i suggest you change your account information and change your password, before anything get s stolen.ProProxy did it why couldn't a cracked SV do it?
