Mccaffee and norton both just sucks, if you search around in review sites you will see, norton consumes much memory and space while mccaffe just plain sucks. Nod32 + ad aware SE pro + spybot SND + Ccleaner + tuneup 2007 will perfect your computer in every way.

Active Virus Shield - IMO the best there is...free and powered by Kaspersky, low resource usage
Ad-Aware - free, very good malware scanner
Spybot SD - free, good scanner, can immunize system and provide real-time protection for registry changes
Windows Defender is OK as well.

Zone Alarm sucks. Its the defense solution made for retards with computers. It warns you about every little thing, again and again, you can't make it auto accept stuff. Well you can, but even if you, it still warns you, which is juts plain stupid. And it hogs cpu useage.
Norton just plain sucks. Its worse then zone alarm, overloaded with warnings, low detection ratios and it also hogs cpu useage.
I would recommend Kaspersky, Active Virus sheild, Nod32. Myself, I run Active Virus shield + spybot s&d + Sygate Personal firewall.
