Making a +3 Item

How do i make a +2 item into a +3, how many +'s do i need

buy 6 +1 and makes them to 2 +2 and then make +3

+1 and +1 and +1 = +2

to make a +3 you need main +2 then use 2 +2's then bang +3

so on and so forth
