dds converter

I wrote this in the thread esq started with a tutorial on creating custom skins. I am reposting here in hopes that more people will read it and hopefully somone can help me with my very weird problem.

i got about halfway through your tutorial, but where it gets to the part where i have to open the dds converter v2.1 is where this gets very not fun. i cant get it to open!!!

is there some odd way to open the dds converter? i have tried to double click on the shortcut, click on it in the start menu, right click a dds file>open with>browse>dds converter, and tried to double click on the exe. every time i try nothign happens. not even an error message. is there some dumb trick i have over looked???

please help friends, i am eager to make my own skins and also edit weapons and armors. but with out dds converter i am unable!!

try reinstall, and restart computah.

I tried that, hasnt worked. Any other suggestions?

Maybe your system isn't cooperative with the DDS converter. Try searching for a different one on Google.

haha, i saw your post before you editted it, i take it you figured out that thats the guide im using xD

i guess thats my only option at this point, but ive been search for help on the one i already have, and havent seen any signs of other free ones. oh well wish me luck.

edit: i spoke lies before, i did find a program that converts to dds, sadly not from dds.

edit: WOOT i found an older version of the same program and it actually runs!! now i just hope it works

Yea I saw your post like 2 above the last post on CO Skin Guide, so I edited it quick lol.

If you really want I could convert all the original skin .dds files to PSDs and just put em all in a RAR for you to edit and I can convert them back to .dds if the older version you found didn't work.

my wdfextracter doesnt work =( and anything else... and my CS2 wont download

your welcome, it was very much deserved.

oh wow, i hope thats not necessary, lolz, but i will keep the offer in mind if things dont work out.
as of right now i have gotten a couple steps further in the process, but ran into another problem. i have edited the first file, and the next step is to basically record the steps i took to get the image to look the way i want. problem is im using macromedia fireworks, and if there is a way to do that on that program i cant figure it out lol, so for the time being im d/ling aps and searching for a keygen (if anyone has one pm me

)
