What we want in a bot...

This is a thread for discussing what we want in a hunting/leveling bot.

Personally, while I like Conquer Partner, I would like something better.

Using CO partner as a starting point, what do YOU want in a hunting/leveling bot?

I want:

1) Better inventory management, including automatic reorganizing. For the purposes of Lab, it would be nice if it would clear junk items first, then clear other potentially wanted items if something better comes along.

For example:

i) Diamonds are dropped by a monster. Bot clears out normal items and picks up diamonds.
ii) Inventory is full of mets, pots and diamonds, another meteor falls. Bot drops a potion (but not a potion box) to make space for the meteor.

Perhaps something could be added so that -dmg items can also be dropped. At the current time, the confirmation window that comes up when trying to drop a -dmg item makes it impossible to drop them with CO Partner.

2) Better and smarter moving. CO partner pretty much sucks in terms of moving. It spends a lot of time running between stuff and not enough time jumping, as a player would do. It also only travels straight up or sideways when searching for monsters, if it could travel diagonally, this would be a great help in terms of making it look like someone's playing and would also make it search for monsters better. Sometimes CO Partner get stuck in corners and other map features. It would be nice if the bot had information on all of the maps, including where it can and cannot go. This way it would not get stuck trying to move off of the map or into water and walls. Also, with some monsters, there are rotating spawns, especially in the secondary desert map. If there was a way to set points on the map for the character to go when monsters cannot be found, that would be really nice. Also, if the bot does get stuck on something and cannot move, it would be nice if it would disconnect. Personally if someone's botting at a spawn that I want, I kill them, and the #1 thing I look at is how the character moves.

3) Better disconnect feature. CO Partner doesn't disconnect you when something goes wrong (dura or HP too low), it kills the client, but according to the server, you're still there for several seconds. When dealing with a PKer (or a botter-hunter) that perhaps does not 1-hit, or a messenger (which are a pain in the ass for trojans and warriors), it would be nice if the bot would actually disconnect rather than closing the client. There is easily time to hit a person 2-3 times after the client has closed and before the char logs off of the server. Also, with CO partner if the client is closed, your CO Partner settings are all lost, would be nice not to have to reset them every time.

4) Anti-KS features would be great too. The #1 thing that gets botters killed is KSing other people. At one point someone claimed that an Anti-KS feature had been added to CO Partner, but I have yet to see it work. It would be nice if it kept at least 1/2 of a screen away from other players.

5) Auto-flee. Especially in Lab but also in areas with messengers and other higher level monsters that we might not want to fight, it would be nice if the bot would run away from certain monsters. For example, at level 97 my trojan handled Slingers just fine, but took higher damage from GoldGhosts. In other levels of Lab, every trojan and warrior fears the magic mobs (AgileRats & FiendBats), especially warriors who sometimes get owned in just 2 hits when they don't have a shield.

6) Auditory warnings. When someone whispers or says something in chat that's directed to you (your name appears in their message or they actually put your name in the box), some kind of auditory notice would be nice. It would also be helpful if it made a noise when someone comes onto the screen, ESPECIALLY if they stop moving (which might mean that they are watching you to see if you're botting).

7) Saved routines. One nice addition would be allowing us to make our own macros within the bot, to get around lab, through the levels of lab or from Stone City to Met Zone, for example. Another nice addition would be to let us save multiple settings. For example, choose my setting for Lab 1 and make a pre-set named "Lab 1 Slinger Spawn" or "Lab 1 GoldGhost Spawn" and then have different pre-sets depending on where you go.

8) Prioritizing hunting/leveling & Task queue.. It drives me nuts when CO partner gets stuck between 2 monsters or something and keeps running back and forth while never reaching either. How about hunting is the top priority and when it finishes killing a monsters, it then picks things up. Only exception being when elite/super items or DBs/Mets fall, these items it picks up immediately. In a situation where there are items of equal priority (2 monsters), whichever one it sees first is the one it attacks first, or perhaps whichever one is closer.

Feel free to add to my list if you can think of other improvements for our dream-bot.

EDIT: I would like to add that I am not asking anyone to make this and I doubt anyone will. This is just wishful thinking.

i dont think that for such as tao's when leveling off such as the bats in the cave or the bandits in the cave that they automatically lure them over to the safespots, then jump to safespot and start zapping from there

well it could be nice

Good ideas, probably the best bot I ever used was BJX, it also moved VERY FAST unlike CoPart that walks in a line, jumps, walks, trys attacking monsters it already kills (On Client it shows the monster is there just no name and health because it deads, then gradually fades).

Ive been thinking a red, blue and black log off feature would be nice. So when enemy guildies or red names appear, if you have 'log on red' set, then it will log off, or if you have 'log on blue' set, it would log off when it saw a pker. Also, by having them toggle-able, you can choose your level of secruity.

im likeing the ideas but i dunno how easy it would be for some of the programers here to make this, plus i dont know if the first one would work


but if someone did this i dont think they would re;ease itto the public but i dunno they might

COtobo already does that, lol... Not the red guild name thing, but other than that, just use COtobo.

I'm not simply suggesting adding those features, im suggesting using them as security choices. It would be helpful for say, during a war with another guild, or turning off logging when one sees a black name so you can auto-attack them back.
