I have heard allot of these rumors about how to make sockets in tc ":20" right after maint and allot others well i thought i'd share my thoughts and how i have made mine...
Heres one thing if you use <and most of us do< the tc trick to up your items quality in tc for instance i take a high lvl elite junk item (for instance a elite war helm) throw 5 mets in it (if they all fail) then put a db in the item i wish to improve quality .. now if for some reason the db fails (WHICH IT DOES SOMETIMES) buy up 5-10 lvl 10 boots or lvl 1 ring or wtvr u want to socket and throw 1 meteor in each ... this is how i got 2 of my first 5 sockets.
i've made over 20 sockets in tc and i dont use a time thing or right after maint thing.. i just put 5 mets (1 met in each pair of lowest lvl of the item) i hear about people burning hundreds of mets in tc and lets face it obviously if ur burning that many mets ur doing something wrong .. sorry.. but heres my facts/stats
5 mets a day on each char < past 2 months<
(All of my sockets where lowest lvl possible of that item and i only put 1 met in each :example: all my soc boots where lvl 20 1 soc)
6 pairs of 1 soc boots
2 one soc tao cap
3 one soc neckys
4 one soc attk rings
5 one soc earrings
3 one soc dex rings
<might be off by 1 on some just a rough guess off top of my head<
None of us can be absolutly sure the BEST way to make sockets i only know what works for me and SPAMMING METS IS NOT THE BEST
Following are just some little things about my char(s) for those who feel it may help them in some way.
Here is another little tid bit my char that has created the most sockets does not pk but does fight allot in arena/jail ... someone told me this could have something to do with it so i thought i'd add it in.... Another thing is that the char that has made most sockets (10+) is a rb 2nd best is a non rb water .. and mines 24/7
All my sockets came at night time EST (the end of my day usually before i go to bed but at completly random times at night)
Heres another little thing for you ..... lets face it if ur in a server thats been around for a while u got a water factory there.. heres what you do find the factory that has donated the most dbs.. like for instance i bought a rb wat-troj from a factory of bulkbuyers anyhow i left the char on the bulkbuyers email.. and this char has made more socs then any of my other chars. yea sure buying a rb is a risk or wtvr but isnt 5-10 dbs for a rb that even if you use only for socket making worth a few sockets? pays for itself first time... its something to think about.. it increases your chances greatly in my opinion.
