Hows the game nowadays?

I used to play this game years back, even this forum account is from 2007. I've been searching around for a good old grindy game to play and I remembered this was quite fun. I quited at around where the new idiotic points system came, can't remember the name. If you had like 300 points and the other guy had 250, he would only hit 1's. That made it way too pay to win and I left.
Is it worth starting up again, is it even slightly better than it was back then or should I be looking up some oldschool private server?
I know this is the wrong place to ask for one, but I'll risk it and still ask, preferrably with around 300 players online.

Don't bother with modern. The pay to win only got worse. Most classic servers have shrunk in recent years as more and more people have moved on to other games or have decided they don't mind newer conquer content

My servers as posted in my signature are as far as I know the largest classic network right now. They are all linked together through an inter server battle room and each server averages 100-150 online so that's around 300-400 on 24/7

Most other classic servers I could throw a shout out to have since shut down but maybe there are some others who could offer alternatives

i strongly recommend you to choose for Shannara Conquer if you're intrested in classic's, by far the best classic server online at this moment, they have a decent & nice playerbase tough for a classic.

The statement of pro4never that moderns are pay2win isn't true at all, the official conquer is pay2win but there are several modern servers out there that are completely aimed for a balanced & fair gameplay.

If you're intrested in a modern which is in my opinion Play2win instead of pay2win then i strongly recommend you to try PlayConquer.

PlayConquer's gameplay is 100% play2win & modern cuz you can easily hunt for CPBags that are dropped by monsters even with a lvl 25 archer at the pheasants area.
It is a fact that people who spend 15euros +/- for a month of VIP are more rich in CPs tough but thats because they are able to use autohunt+autoloot when they are sleeping, this deff does not make the game pay2win dw, you can still farm a decent amount of cps in a hour by doing it yourself.
Besides that autohunters cant use the cyclone skill, a reborned cyclone archer can manually easy farm more cps in 1 hour then a autohunter does.
Btw lets not forget, it are just 15+ euros & those 15+ euros can give you plenty to keep playing for a long while (Still cheaper then Fifa16 or Call of Duty lols), you won't have to spend money unless you want to.

Anyways i recommend you to try out the play2win modern private servers for a week before you decide to stick with a 10 year old game/gameplay which wont change majorly anyways.
Some updates made the modern conquer pay2win but trust me, there are several good moderns servers out there who support a 100% play2win game environment.
Lets not forget the graphical updates on the modern client are soo pretty compared to the classic ones out there, even android conquer has better graphics then any classic at this point.
