Client error with the new installer

Anyone else getting this? "Failed to open server.dat file. Please reinstall the game". It`s funny because this is a clean installation, I`ve reinstalled 3 times, tried starting in compatibility mode, nothing works.

Can someone upload me a Conquer.exe and a server.dat which are working currently for them?

It's a client error. The message that's supposed to show is the one that tells you the client can't connect to the login server. I believe it's either "Server maintenance or network congested. Try again later" or "The Server is busy. Please try other servers or try again 20 seconds later!"

The reason the client can't connect to the login server(s) is because someone has been attacking it/them for the past couple of days (4 days now, I think?)

I'm sure he did. The login servers are still ****** even though TQ's latest announcement says otherwise.

Download an old patch and extract it to a new folder on yur desktop then copy and replace that junk in your co folder. Now spam login attempts and after 5 minuts or so u should be in. Once you finally get in do yur best not to get dc.

Okay, so the old exe says network maintenance. So they basically patched the game to show a wrong error. Great work.

Well then, this is interesting. Right now, they're changing the account server hosts around, which is why they're putting out new server.dat files. Since that didn't work for them (it's very easy to get the IP addresses of the account servers), I suppose they're investigating into the problem with their ISP. I wonder what they're going to try next.

the server is working fine right now i just patch in my office and working perfectly but wish it will not down if not i cannot transfer stuff to my main account :\

They blocked payments now. Meanwhile, iPad CO works. Autopatch does not.

Update : I might be an idiot, but I hooked the send packet function (before encryption occurs). When the client throws the server.dat error my hook does not trigger, when it connects it does. This is getting even more interesting.

Uhm, what? Of course the client doesn't send any packets to the server if it can't even connect to the server in the first place ...
