How do I prevent auto patching?

anyone know how to prevent my client from autopatching?

In version.dat change it to 9999.

That's what I did for a long time but it doesn't seem to work anymore after some of the latest patches

Disconnect your internet when starting Conquer.
Make sure to have a multiclient where you can run Conquer.exe directly.

1. Open your conquer folder and find conquer.exe

2. Make a shortcut to it.

3. Right click the shortcut and pick properties

4. In the Target box you should see something like "C:\Program Files\Conquer 2.0\Conquer.exe"

5. Add the word blacknull so it will look like this "C:\Program Files\Conquer 2.0\Conquer.exe" blacknull

6. Use the new shortcut to start your game. no more auto patch!

works great.. tyvm.. now i'm going to check out your thread on taking out 3d effects.
