well, i can't code "yet". but i'm 16 year old noob that almost got his exams done. and next year i'm going to a game/multimedia programing school. so in a few months, i'd love to help out lol. so i can't code AT ALL yet, but i am willing to learn and gladlly willing to help!

we would need a epvp server running on patch 5065 mabye like 10xEXP and way more common db drop as i will be impossible to bulk.

Not to be rude buts it not gonna happen never will problem is no one will trust anyone anymore after people are puting out other sources if you was smart hook up with another server talk to them see what you both can do help each other out and you have a good server.

- Without money there is no server, no website. Money is needed to pay for hosting, domain, bandwidth.

- It is a game, not a business. Respect the players. Ask as little money as possible, only enough to pay the bills. If they give more, only voluntary donation to wanna help the server, not because they need better gear.

-Volunteer work and free help is always preferred. Using private server for personal profit is not the goal.

How to achieve equality among players:
-Everybody must have equal opportunity in developing and playing their character.

-Therefore, real money donations can never be allowed to effect player's stats, level, rebirth, attack, defense, potency, or equipment in any way, directly or indirectly. Everything should be earned in-game.

-Things that do not affect player development or gameplay concretely:
Garments
Equipment coloring
Hairstyles
Body Size
Flowers
Guilds
Avatars
Custom HUD
Nobility (should have no potency reduction)
These things are safe to charge money for, if you desire.


I feel like these principles are good for all sides when it comes to the money issue. I want to know if people agree or not.

hmm , a free web, hmm someone hosting on their computer 24/7 ...acid co does it all without money. let me ask you this, are you going to be the owner of this project or is everysingle person the owner.

I'd be in if it could succeed.

Private servers are all just **** fests of noobs trying to abuse GM power over people.
Pretty much all the good coders have dropped out of deving servers. But I'll join in partially as a noob coder .

It can be done like some other privat server i plays on EO, "paypalers" gets to buy special garments,a avatar of your pick, special pets and some other stuffies.
This cude easy be done to CO tho, special garments for example my darkwizard.

I have some experience in C# (but not enough to create a source from scratch). Ive been away from the Private server scene for a while so if this team is serious it would be a good way for me to come back.

-How many people can log in at one time?
-Is is relatively lag-free?
-How often is it online?

About this idea:

Home Computer; not dedicated.

@The poster who mentioned AcidCO: Yes, AcidCO is running for free, but usually a successful private server group has at least one dedicated server with a source/server software that can support hundreds or thousands of players...as that is what an MMORPG is all about.


On a side note, if you guys want a website up and running, I have a website w/ hosting literally just sitting around...as I temporarily have nothing going on for it. =>

edit: My original idea I've had for the best original-styled Conquer server would be running patch v4335; where it is the patch right before CPs was released...so it has Conquer right before money-interests took over TQ.

The way to re-regulate Dragonballs and Meteros would be to re-insert "MysticMerchant" for her original purpose - selling DBs at 5,000,000 silvers and I forget meteors...somewhere around 300,000 I think. The second TQ took her out the value of silvers declined and then the introduction of CPs (and stuff after that) just devalued silvers even more.

Server doesn't have to run on 4335, just make it so there is no CPs.

As for the money issue your all talking about, requesting donations and demanding payments are different; Although if we will sell things that have no real effect on game play itself i can't see it doing too much damage.

Mystic merchant was such a godsend, although if your going to increase the XP rates and things so that the server is more appealing to play (not somthing like 1000x) because you don't have to invest as much time you can significantly reduce the number of botters.

TQ are very thorough in their "you can't bot" and all that other shit, personally If somone wants to bot on a private server i've no problem with it, others might see it as people getting somthing for nothing and us not really caring too much; but if you wanna stop them kill their character.

I would host such a project on my computer if i didn't live in australia where we have to pay for all the bandwidth we use, there is no such thing as 'unlimited' bandwidth.

Just for a little clarification, not that i'm 'the' leader, or even in 'a' leadership role here, but personally I'de like to see a server with...
- No CPS
- A DB/Met Vendor
- Free 12 Hour (Once every 24 Hours) Offline TG
- No Potency
- No Talismans
- No Mounts
- No Mentor / Student
- No Quiz Show
- A Lock Item System

I've also been talking to some friends and they've put forward some ideas for consideration.
- More than 3 Qualities of Gems. (EG. Dragon Gems Refined 5%, Unique 10%, Elite 15%, Super 25%)
- New spells (I've got alot of ideas for these but i won't post them)
- Higher Max Level
- Higher Weapon Skill Cap
- A "Shopping Mall" that sells Drugs & Can Repair for Silvers (From anywhere)
- Additional Item Qualities (EG. Epic, Legendary)
- More Guild War events
- More PK Events
- Re-Designed 'Normal' Quests (So that they give XP like the (Free) Item quests)
- Options on quest rewards (Only XP, XP & Money, XP & an Item, Only the Item, Only Money)

That and if this actually gets started and we are going to code from scratch, I can compile data sheets to help the coders implement items, quests, things like that (i don't have much experience with coding so i dunno what would be needed though)

On another note, I wonder if any of the older members who have similar ideas about what conquer should be and who have the programming knowlage would participate; I might ask Leavemealone if he wants to throw some time at it, although I know he doesn't have much time these days.
