Well as this thread is partly based on me, I originally came here NOT for programming etc but because it was advertised for the botting section for a game that I played (Conquer) and nothing more, I eventually realised that it was possible to have a private server.
I started on bins and eventually moved onto various C# projects hosted on here. Yes I have learnt various stuff albeit being called a ******, my main aspect would be websites mixed with SQL by this I mean HTML/PHP/Javascript and most stuff basically related to it.
This is a relatively new account that I use and have been on here for quite a long time.
"If you haven't been here long (i.e. since the beginning) then you haven't realized that this has already happened and coming here to learn hacking is pointless, pretty much the only reason to come here is to sell your bot."
Wow. I've learnt a LOT from e*PvP. Hybrids guides, AMAZING. His old old socket guides, still amazing. If i needed help on something and i was educated but didn't know what to do i wouldn't feel bad about asking for help on e*PvP.
LOL just realised I joined pvpers the following year that P4N joined >.<
Not completely sure about this but I think that multiple accounts are against the rules.
//edit multi-accounting (having more than 1 non-banned account here) is forbidden and results in a ban of all accounts
//edit Nevermind that, JD said it was ok.
What's wrong with this community is the same that was wrong with the first pserver community I was a part of. I called this **** years ago. I'm sure if you went back like 600 posts on mine you'll see me commenting on how the community would turn into nothing but leechers and in destroy the pserver community as it had to the Helbreath community. While there are differences, like how most of the devs in CO stick around as opposed to moving on, less and less release making leechers occupy even more of a percentage of users. Like HB, the community was filled with NOTHING but "how do this code?" "can u right me drop code?" "how add icebound?" "how put gm permissions?" over and over and over. FEW ever tried to learn. When I say few, I mean FAR fewer than are trying in CO. Ended up with a sense of community disappearing entirely and everyone going to their own pservers where they proceeded to cheat and hack each other's servers to try to pull all their players. So much hostility everywhere and the devs (me included) developed short fuses for people asking incredibly stupid questions that were either answerable by the thread below theirs, forum search, or google. Who wants to be asked the same thing 7438538 times, given no credit, and have the same people come back begging for more? While displaying the hostility only further degrades the community, I still understand where it comes from. It's enraging :[
If epvp (actually r a g e z o n e prior to epvp) didn`t exist, I wouldn`t be programming.
Haha same here. I first started learning how to program when CID proxy was released. I was so intrigued about how it worked, so I started learning my first programming language, Java. Ahh good times
I actually started when Tanel released his "first" source. I recall it had FB in it, which was such a big word for newbies like me at the time then. Lol, good times.
All i see is arguments. People talking down to each other. Someone asks something, "You F**king ******", "/facepalm". Why? Seriously?
For example the programming section. Someone ask's a question, "OH ***. Why are you doing this?!", "Why! Whats the point?".
Just because you learnt to program before or quicker, doesn't mean someone else is "Retarded".
Is your mindset: Must talk down on people, Must point out mistakes in a negative way, Must start an argument...
I see it all the time, It's pathetic.
lol i personally think that jumping out of no where and absloutely no knowledge of programming and wanting to make a conquer bot is just stupid, its like wanting to build a building without any knowledge of civil engineering
programming is like any other field of study .... u need to have some sort of knowledge before u can make something sophisticated, i personally think that if somebody learns and tries to make something after that he will probably face some problems, now thats where epvp come, u can use the experience of other senior programmers to solve ur problems, u cant expect em to teach u from zero point tho lol
