Potency Glitch Question

Recently there have been occurrences where non rb archers and other players have been attaining ~290 potency there a mentor glitch, I have no solid idea how but i am extremely curious and im sure its a closely guarded secret so im making this thread to see if anyone wants to break the news on epvp or maybe just send me a PM about it so i can stop crunching possibilities in my head

any help will be greatly appreciated

1. Take off all the gear on the character that you want to have high potency
2. Get someone (or yourself) with high potency to mentor you
3. Make the mentor delete you as his/her apprentice
4. Take back on your gear

Ps. You wont see the potency yourself, but if you check your potency from another char, you'll see the difference.
