It depends on what you want to do with the bot. I've used cog and CoAI. Cog was awesome up till a month ago, then it's been a never ending series of set backs for them. Their site was hacked and they haven't been able to overcome the 1 day ban issue yet. If Cog can get back on their feet, then I think I prefer that bot for one simple reason; I can dc on all players when I hunt or mine.
Honestly though, I'm discouraged for the future of Cog because Dean is trying to do all the programing by himself while fighting off hacking and sabotaging attempts on his forum and bot, and I think he really needs help to get his bot as awesome as it once was. But I figure this kind of thing will likely continue because these bots can make thousands(my guess is tens of thousands) per month. So, greed will ensue for sure and that goes for both bots to stay neutral. Although CoAI is in a much better position to handle these sabotaging attempts because they have a bunch of people helping to prevent them rather than cog with just one person trying to run the whole show and keep all the profits. To be fair, rumor is that Dean has done made many attempts to steal code/programing from CoAI which started the hacks against him. And honestly, like most of you here, I just want to bot and make a few dbs, I don't want to have to worry about all the drama. I don't care about the BS, show me the dbs!! So, back to the real info.
CoAI has a dc on all but it's not effective because when the bot tries to trade/repair gears/ deposit, etc... the bot will continue to dc and re-log in a never ending cycle. This is where Cog is able to turn off the dc on all feature as the bot leaves their hunting spot(for hunters) or mine spot(for miners). For example, lets say I set up 30 miners in mz mine and 30 miners in ac/dc/pc mine. The miners in mz mine will make 2X the profits of the ones in ac or dc or pc mine because of the glory gems(also true for T-gems in tc mine, but tc is very crouded). The problem is that CoAI's bots won't dc properly(without constant dcs) if I put them in mz mine where there is alot of traffic since mz mine has only one floor and they will get reported and banned really quickly because it's much more difficult to hide bots in mz than it is the bottom floor of ac/pc/dc. Keep in mind that ac/pc/dc has 15 floors and tc/mz only has one floor. Some say that this isn't an issue because CoAI can make lvl 70 bots automatically, but I think after awhile tq will keep checking cheat logs on a server that has repeated bans and re-making 60(or whatever number) of bots over and over can become a pain.
I'm thinking of giving Chrome a fair chance because it has a program where the hunt bots can run from other players when you hunt. I'm not sure how well Chrome works with mine bots. <== I'd like someone to reply or PM me that info. I like to be as hidden as possible when I bot. I also care about ksing legit players when I bot, although I know most don't. I also like the idea of not being reported because even if you change your IP after a ban, I think tq keeps an eye on that particular servers cheat loggs if they catch a large number of bots after a player reports you which means that on some servers the bots are banned everyday if the cheat reports show a large number of them(this is more of a theory).
Conclusion, CoAI is best now, and maybe if Cog gets back on their feet, they can be great again, although I really have my doubts now because I think Dean is way over his head. I do plan on fully testing Chrome soon but was a little disappointed when I tried their one week trial because I couldn't get any help and I saw the mods being rather rude to players sometimes, although I'm sure some players deserve it, it seemed that the mods/programers over there were a bit immature to run a successful bot for a long period of time. This was just my impression for being there a couple of days, I could be wrong and often am.
Hope this was helpful to someone it took me 20 minutes to type
