Server Poulation COunter

i just wanted to know if theres a tool out there that could tell you maybe the current population of your server,or how i would go about making one.
ANy help would be appreciated

To the best of my knowledge it would be impossible to find this information out without access to the server. As you are nothing but a connection, and no other connections are linked to you. If you did have access you would need to count connected IPs or something similar. Which a server can do easily with say netstat or software.

OK,well im trying to figure out whens the best time for me to play lotto and spam mets and stuff,since the possibility is higher when server population is low.IS there maybe hints at when the pop is low?,like would my ping drop alot or something.Im just really looking for a way to hint at it.
