I started playing Star Citizen and came across a video about Voice Attack by accident. I was totally amazed by the idea of using your voice to perform keystrokes that I downloaded Voice Attack and a profile for star citizen immediately. It worked well and I enjoyed using it but there was one thing that I didn’t like at all. The Command Editor. I just couldn’t get my head around it. It’s not complicated to be honest but its a pain to use in my opinion so I though I’d try to build my own version of Voice Attack. A few hours later after researching Speech Recognition and Speech Synthesis, I’ve made a post in the Star Citizen Facebook Group. Surprisingly I’ve got their support and feedback the minute I posted my concept. Even the name, Voice of the Citizens, came from them. I just called it “Voice Command” until that point ��

Who’s developing VOTC?

Me, myself and I. This is a one man army project of mine as long as we’re talking code. I have had support building this website and the Wiki by two very important guys that became some of the best friends I’ve ever had during the years I’ve known them. Kalona and Lion.

What are my Goals?

Up until recently, my main goal was convincing Voice Attack’s creator that a cooperation between us would be really valuable. After my attempt on contacting him however, that changed. I sent him the full source code and compiled ready to use assemblies for use including a description and tutorial on Facebook, he replied in a very unsatisfying way and that’s not cause of the declined offer. I will not disclose what exactly was said but I’ll say this much: My main goal is to outperform voice attack now, no more sharing.

So what exactly can VOTC do right now?

Right now, there isn’t too much to talk about. Well maybe there is. We have a global Keyboard hook, that will allow you to read what a user is typing – very important to capture keystrokes and execute macros. You can press keys, hold them down, release them, press shortcut keys, move the mouse, click any button, read the joystick axis, tweet, post to Facebook, do a news web-search, chat with other VOTC users using the global chat that was requested in a previous release, Play your music, code your own scripts, upload them to the store, browse the store for scripts you’d like, install them, update your facebook status, tweet,....

I've already used VOTC to play WoW and I've wrecked almost the whole entire battlegrounds without trying. I'm not saying this because he's a friend. I'm saying it after giving this application a try. Heck I still even owe him a WoW script haha.

I have been using VOTC since version 0.0.1 I really enjoy using it, it makes everything easier, controlling everything with your voice is just awesome, not to mention you can use it as your music player and so on. Overall it is an awesome application.

Now, what the hell is VOTC and why would I even remotely consider using it instead of VA

Let me start by telling you what VOTC is not / does not use:

• Not using the windows speech recognizer
• Not using XML profiles / Profile editors
• Not using Windows Froms
• Not pay to use

VOTC is:

• using Intel RealSense for Speech Recognition
• using a C# script engine to create 'profiles'
• has a store which you can browse, upload, download, update 'profiles'
• has a DirectX 9 - 11 ingame overlay / fps counter
• has a hardware monitor, Temps, utilization of cpu,gpu,ram,..
• has social integration (facebook, twitter) and due to the RealSense Speech recognizer you can actually speak freely and post to your wall / tweet. The accuracy is outstanding.
• has emotion detection. Webcam required. Imagine the popular VA profile ANNA adapt to your emotional state. Proceed with puking rainbows.
• Has a built in media player
• supports multiple languages. Not like VA just the language of your windows installation. You can switch on runtime.
• it's open source (currently migrating from TFS to Github)

I've been developing this tool for almost 6 months now, with the outstanding support of the Star Citizen Facebook Group helping me test it, picking the name since I just called it "Voice Command" until Voice of the Citizens was decided upon

Anyway, I'd love to get in contact with as many of you as possible. I'm austrian so grammar/spelling issues might be all over the place and I want to apologize in advance.

I'd love to chat with you if you're interested be4 I set you up with the current build, since the latest public release still uses the Windows recognizer.

Edit Latest Stable w/ Realsense Compiled for x64
This build includes Sally 0.1 a basic StarCitizen Script along with some others for X Rebirth, Arma3, and Jedi Academy)
Its a SFX Installer, the realsensesdk will be in the install dir, run it be4 starting VOTC else it won't work.

Although this project and this post are long dead, this thread still pops up in my search results from time to time. As much as I should probably continue to ignore it, just knowing it is there really doesn't sit well. I would like the 'permanent' record to show that the quote above is a complete fabrication by original poster, 'Xio'.

First, never once was I contacted by this individual or representative of this individual at any time or in any form. Second (and most importantly), as I was never contacted, I also did not reply in any form.

I would also like the record to show that flat-out lying to garner personal sympathy or support at the expense of another person's reputation (privately or publicly) is a despicable practice, and scrapes the bottom of human decency.
