Firmware-Level Architecture, System Compatibility & Anti-Cheat Security Research
What is a Custom BIOS?
A Custom BIOS is a modified motherboard firmware designed to alter selected low-level system configurations and hardware initialization behavior. Depending on the platform and implementation, firmware modifications may affect how the operating system and security software interact with the underlying hardware.
Ring −2 Architecture — Research Overview
This project investigates claims surrounding firmware-level execution below conventional operating-system security layers, commonly described in this context as Ring −2. The research examines how such implementations relate to Ring 0 kernel-level anti-cheat systems and Ring −1 hypervisor-based security mechanisms.
Compatibility & Testing
The reported test environment includes Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC), BattlEye, FACEIT Anti-Cheat and Riot Vanguard. Compatibility with Secure Boot, IOMMU/VT-d and Windows Core Isolation is also part of the evaluation and was successful
Supported Platforms: AMD & Intel
