I'm working on a source but struggling to actually login to game. Version is 5165

1) I receive packet 1086 (MsgAccount), process it and send packet 1055 (MsgConnectEx - Auth response).

2) Reach to GameServer, initiate and complete key exchange, first packet is 1052 (MsgConnect). I process it, send "ANSWER_OK", no issues so far, authentication is successful.

3) I'm starting to process the player class, call variables from database and send packet 1006 (MsgUserInfo).

Issue starts here, right after I send the packet 1006, client disconnects. I checked the packet and everything seems in order, last 8 bytes is TQServer, when I decrypt it, I can see all the information I'm trying to send. What could be the cause of that?

Are you receiving the [10010]MsgAction subtype 74 packet from client after sending [1006]MsgUserInfo?

No it doesn't reach that far. As I said, right after I send 1006, I get disconnected.

Post the bytes that are being sent to the client. Double check that your CharacterId is not 0, that would cause a disconnection.

I'm sure that CharacterId is not 0. I put breakpoints and check from Visual Studio to make sure that my packets are filled with information.

That's too generic of an error. Could be database configuration, could be the account isn't set up properly, could be wrong patch version, could be you have the wrong server name selected in the client if your server cares about that.

I am trying to set up a local private server running 5065 using the Redux private server source. I obtained the client from Spirited's Server Client & Patch Downloads, the Redux source from the Conquer-Online GitHub, and the ConquerLoader from the original Redux elitepvpers (pro4never) post.

I've followed the setup instructions:
  • Run the SQL backup
  • Use one of the existing test accounts
  • Extract the loader into the 5065 client folder
  • Update the Redux server configuration on first run (using Visual Studio 2022 Community)
  • Update LoaderSet.ini:
    • IPAddress={IPv4 address}
    • LoginPort=9958
    • GamePort=5816
    • Website=NULL
    • Force=TRUE

When I run ConquerLoader and the server, I can enter credentials and the auth server accepts them as valid. Then when the client transitions to the game server, the game server calls Disconnect() because the packet size read from the decrypted buffer exceeds the buffer length - meaning decryption is producing garbage.

I've confirmed the correct OpenSSL DLLs are being used.

I've done some debugging:
  • The DH key exchange completes successfully on the server side
  • The Blowfish key is derived and applied correctly
  • The IV values in BlowfishExchange.cs are all zeros by default (never populated with random data in CreateServerKeyPacket)
  • Despite the correct key being set, decryption still produces garbage, the decrypted buffer shows no recognizable packet structure

It seems unlikely, but my only suspicion at this point is a client/server version mismatch, the 5065 client from Spirited's downloads may be a different sub-version build than what Redux was originally developed against, resulting in a Blowfish encryption mismatch.

Has anyone had similar issues? Any help is greatly appreciated.
