Hey guys & gals.

The new patch will be installed on Friday 29/06/2012 mid day. It will contain the following updates/changes/fixes:

• Base Capture has been added from H2L and will be held at 8pm each day. If you guild wins, it will get access to a special set of semi-private hunting maps for its guild members.
• Elite PK has been added from H2L and will be held at 7pm each friday. Winner will receive a +2 item.
• VIP players will be able to change their name in the VIP room for 2 DBs.
• Players can now de-level items for 2 DBs (with a 1/2 chance to succeed) in the market at the upgrade NPC.
• Players can now enchant items for gems at ArtisanRowe in the market.
• Everyone can get a broadcast item from Luna in Twin. It can be used once every 30 minutes. If you are level 80- it will say you need plvl. 80+ it will say you're plvling. If you are in the arena or jail, it will say that you're there and waiting for people to come play.
• FB/SS arena will now ask that you RETURN the items (not drop them).
• Voting has been fixed and should no longer bug on people.
• Warrior defense has been nerfed to ballance them further in pvp.
• Red/Black names have been fixed and will continue to drop items as normal.
• The Arab garment will no longer be invisible on large males.
• The server.dat has been updated to no longer show Hate2Love.

There was some downtime today, sorry about that...

There's some guys that seem determined to attack us unprovoked and for no reason lately, including a number of tcp/udp attacks and attempting to brute force our server login even as I write this..

So yeah, doing my best to keep it online as much as possible and I hope whoever has this rather random "vendetta" will stop soon. Needless to say I'm fairly sure they won't but it doesn't harm to appeal to peoples morales..

It's just a power trip by a bunch of little kids (script kiddies) who think that this somehow proves that they're "smart" or knowledgeable in some way, but all it really does is show just how childish and immature they really are. People claim these attacks to be a "DDoS", when it's no where near what a true DDoS is. When I see things like this all I can say is I feel sorry for the person doing it, because they really must have no self esteem to even attempt a noob tactic like this. If they were real "hackers" they would find real vulnerabilities in the server and either exploit them or report them to the server staff, but they're not. They reduce themselves down to using known, common, and public attack methods that were discovered by real hackers years upon years ago. These kids can't do anything for themselves, and they wouldn't stand a chance if they had to find vulnerabilities or exploits on their own. Useless.

Don't let it get to you, just remember that you're better than them because you don't reduce yourself to their level of stupidity and immaturity.

Meh just annoying that you spend so much of your time just to give people some fun on their time off work / from school, and basically all you get in return is people trying to screw you left right and centre for no reason.

If it isn't people trying to extort me for money, or people constantly attacking us for no reason at all, you have issues in game with cheats and bug abuse, or hack cases. Then updates and all that malarchy to worry about.

It's hard work..

Yep.. That's why I get angry at the middle/highschool kids on here who think they know what it takes to run an active, public server. It's a lot more work than most people could even imagine, let alone, handle. People used to talk a lot of **** about "TQ" back in 2004 when Conquer was alpha/post-alpha, because they would take a week or two to stop someone from using exploits/bugs, when the team that was assigned to Conquer was only three people at the time (Even now, with their team of potentially hundreds, they don't do too good, though.)

Running a server is not just fun and games. In fact, most of the time, it is neither fun nor games. It's work, and a lot of it, not to mention an enormous amount of responsibility, so people shouldn't shun having a team instead of just one or two people. I truly do commend you and your staff for even running a server with the amount of success that you're experiencing at the moment, and that in itself is probably the reason people are attacking you, jealousy. Whatever the case, keep at it, and don't let them break you. Ever. You guys are better than that.

I have begun setting up a test server which will allows us to better test and develop the 1.0 source. I would really appreciate if you guys could login from time to time and check it out.

Your login details should be the same as those on the live server however this is dependant on when you joined, I will endeavour to update the development database with new accounts and characters on a fairly regular basis.

I will be setting up the server to automatically restart every hour, this will be an attempt to keep the server as up to date with development as possible without me having to continually manually restart the server, and if a game breaking bug occurs down time should be relatively small.

This only applies to Premium members at this time, more details in the Premium section of our forum!

So you want people to test it for you, yet it's restricted to Premium members... I don't get the point?

My reasoning is that our team is small to the point that i wouldnt be able to keep up with bug reports, and most likely critical issues with the source if i released it to the public, as a result its restricted so that i can develop at a reasonable rate and deal with bugs as and when they are reported.

I really was about to try this server when I went to the forums and that Premium stuff was all around. This is yet another server where you have to pay to fully enjoy it, which has nothing classical on it. No offense
