error 1045

i know i know its a basic fix but i havent messed with conquer servers since the windows xp days and im interested in getting back into making a small server for me and my friends... ive doen everything the way its usually done with appserv navicat and what nots. i keep getting the error 1045 access denied for root@localhost using password yes bs error and im not sure how to fix it but would appreciate the helps thanks elitepvpers. go ahead and knock me i know its a basic fix but i cant find anything on how to fix it

Don't use appserv. It's extremely outdated at this point and will leave your server at high risk of becoming a DDOS client for someone. Replace it with xampp if you have to use something like that instead of the official technologies. In terms of your error, your MySQL password is wrong.

so just install xampp and just make sure to remember the passwords correctly. do i have to uninstall appserv before i install xampp. thanks for the advice man dont mean to bother but its been a fat minute

Yes. The ports on the services will conflicts otherwise, and you don't want the older / exploitable services running.

alright im unistalling it and installing xampp thanks for the info hopefully everything works the way it used to. i guess i got rusty over the years of not running a server anymore. are the patches on your mega just for regular conquer or do they have the right stuff needed to run a server

They're unmodified. There should be instructions for using the clients with a launcher. "ConquerLoader 5.2"
