Ok since when can you spawn entities with level over 255?

Yes... entity spawn packet now uses ushort for levels and yet it would seem that it's still a byte in character info packet...

For those who don't know, this screen IS based on actual char info packet. Not like I'm sending some bs update packet or anything.




This shouldn't upset me but it begs the question...

What the **** does tq ever need mobs over 255 for? Also, why update one packet without updating others? You can't have players over 255 so why allow spawning them with higher lvl?

ahh apparently it's been like this for ages.. yay for me not having structured the packet in earlier versions myself ahaha.

According to saint it's more to do with efficiency when reading then actual concern about space used.

Ooh I'm well aware It just boggles the mind considering them actually deciding "Yah you know what... 255 levels when our max level is well under 200 is just not high enough... lets make a maximum level of 65,535 for spawning ****"

I simply cannot picture any possible use for that.. I mean really... are they going to just all of a sudden boost the max level by over 100 when they already have very few maxed out players.

I do not understand why they would ever need anything high than level 255. It is, though, very likely that they will boost the highest level again. All there big DB buyers are maxed out so they need to give them something else to spend money on.
