If I remember correctly that's happened to me before and all it took was a change in IP. Try with your DHCP Server / IPv4 Address / Actual Address / or 127.0.0.1 sorry this may sound sloppy but that's all the information I could currently tell you. Try changing one of those in your client if your friend is able to login. If you're self-hosting it then a localhost should do the trick.
