i cant, i tried but it gives me error "server.dat is damaged or failed to open. please re-install the game"
You might have edited it incorrectly then. Make sure that before you modify the file, you're in the first group of server with the first server selected. Close the client, and then try making the modification again. GameSetUp.ini in the ini folder controls the group and server selected as well (they should be set to 1). If you're still getting that error, just post server.dat here.

You can always port forward and use your public IP address. That, or create a loopback adapter or loopback entry in the hosts file. If you want to continue with a loader (which is probably the easiest solution given you want to use localhost), just put their IP address back in the server.dat file and use ConquerLoader 5.2. I can confirm that the server.dat I gave you works.
