About the stickies
Can we get some stickies in this section that aren't based on popularity, but rather knowledge and how useful the resources may be?
Why is it exactly pro's sources are stickied? No offense to you pro4never, but tbh they are definitely not sticky worthy and the sources only has like a few good things, but they're messy and uses a lot of bad practice, but code wise and industrial wise and they're hardly documented. Why are Hybrid's sources not stickied or CptSky's? Or even some of Hybrid's old threads that were full of wisdom? I know the section might be half dead, but whatever.
I think some better stickies might actually make newcomers etc. get a better start here and less questions if they could easily find them for themselves.
Just my 2 cents.

Completely agreed. Right now, there are stickies of rubbish. Complete rubbish. Redux, NCS, these sources don't deserve to be stickied. Why not something like Hybrid v2. That's worthy. And could get people started in the right direction. All people will learn from redux is bad practice. All people will learn from NCS is bad practice. How about sticky a source that has some good practice?

Sure, I can support that. It's not entirely fair keeping source releases stickied when better sources aren't, and it's not like we can sticky everything. What exactly do you recommend is stickied?

Hmm I don't know. I guess that should be up to the community to decide together (referring to those who knows what has been released through the years.)

I would suggest Gareth's 5187, Hybrids 5135. Those are really the only ones I can suggest for development purposes only. Maybe JP's 5017?

Well, normally that section is only used for source releases or random rants on how not to run a private server. Programming tutorials for private servers are usually put in the programming section... for some reason, so I really don't see much useful that could be stickied. Jack's wiki should be moved to that section.

I would not suggest sticking sources to the top of that section. I thought that was the general idea of this thread.

But some sources should be stickied is what I'm saying. Sources that are great resources and can actually educate the community. Which both of those are. Especially since your source isn't full of features, it can be very educational and developmental.

Well, alright. I can see where you're coming from. I just don't know how well that would go down. I mean, yes, documented sources that follow good programming practices are great, but it's difficult to judge which sources are "good enough" to be stickied (in some cases, at least). Also, most members here don't come to develop in that section (sadly). It might just confuse them seeing a bunch of bases stickied to the section.

I think only clean stable bases should be stickied, just my opinion.

Would be better than 20 threads with the same questions, when they could be found there. Perhaps people would ask less if they could actually find the resources.
Searching is not always coming up with the best results either and might take time to actually find what you are searching for, because people are using titles that are unrelated etc.

Packet layouts have very little to do with programming, so not very much reason to move my wiki thread to another section.

So, which threads do we want to save / get rid of? We should start making a list. We can worry about Jack's wiki thread later.
