[Help] Picking a banner network

Hello friends,
looking for a good way to advertise private server, thinking of banner networks that allow this kind of advertisements (like you may have seen alot of world of warcraft private servers rotating on different websites).

Not only networks, that offer advertising on game sites, but networks, that allow private servers advertising on sites where it can be effective. For example, i don't think advertising on Angry Birds fansite would be effective, but that will be considered as a game site by advertiser.

Not generally worth it.


The players you'll pull in from things like top100 sites and banner networks are not the type of community you really 'want' playing your server in most cases (it's nice to flesh out numbers but will chase away the more mature, english speaking dedicated players who will actually keep the server going in the long term)


A server should be able to stand on its own merits. If you are doing something truly unique (fully custom, efficient source with never before seen balanced features) then you will get attention over time through basic advertisement and word of mouth.

Clogging your site with ****** circlejerk advertisement banners is just not the way to do it if you want to host a serious server.
