Hello everyone,
I want to make my own Conquer Online private server because I can't seem to find one that suits my needs. However, if you do find one with the following criterion then please share it with me:

1. Higher version. I personally want a 5700+ version. Just personal preference, I know others disagree.

2. No OP donations. I hate seeing millions and millions of CPS. It hurts my eyes and is pointless because why go to higher ratios when you have lower ratios?

3. Rates itself. I don't like leveling to level 140 in one minute or so. Also, I do not like high CPS drop but something like 1 per monster or higher but random.

4. English.

In this matter, I want to create my own. I am willing to go study the code but where should I start? I have little to no knowledge whatsoever but I want to learn. Do I have to take actual classes or?

You don't have to take classes for it but the people who do understand more of the code than people who don't. In regards to your requirements, you can easily edit the source to your liking. There are a lot of 5700+ sources around but they are highly bugged. The rates are usually handled within the database.
