Using 5065 to immitate classic co.

I was wondering whether it's possible to remove the extra icons that were not part of original CO. I would like to remove the shopping mall/itemlock/mentor icons from the client. Is there a client edit that can be done to remove them?

There's a few things that can be done all of which have varying degrees of success. Maybe someone else can shed some extra light on the situation though.

#1: Remove the graphics. Easily done through the client files. If you click though they will still open the mall/lock/etc windows

#2: Move/remove the buttons themselves. More difficult given the labling but there is an ini file that controls each GUI elements position, size, etc. I believe you can use this to shrink or move the buttons so they are not easily clicked. Combined with removing the graphics is a half decent solution.

#3: Edit the client itself to remove the features fully. Requires some more serious editing of the client itself and not something for beginers to do.


Sadly I've never fully removed them so I cannot provide more detailed advice but this gives you at least a basic starting point to look at.

Removing the buttons can be quite easy if you do it correctly. Find the gui.ini files (there are two for each resolution) in the client version just before the buttons were added. Then, update the client. The gui.ini files will update. Use a simple program (you can write one) to compare the files and find entries that were added. Remove the added entry from the current gui.ini and see what it removes. As Chris says though, even if the button is removed, make sure the feature is removed as well. Cheers!
